The Client & The Scope

Reliance Industries Limited engaged Fencecoat to manufacture, design, and install an elevated sports perimeter enclosure for the Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School.

The primary installation footprint covered an exposed terrace dedicated to sports and recreational activities. The perimeter required 108 running meters of robust fencing at a towering 5-meter height to guarantee absolute ball containment and perimeter safety.

Because the project was situated on an active junior school campus, daytime work was completely unfeasible. The Fencecoat installation crew shifted operations entirely to night shifts to protect students, staff, and routine school operations. In collaboration with the technical expertise of the A1 Fence and Fencecoat Design Team, the system was engineered to withstand severe high-altitude coastal wind conditions while maintaining clean architectural appeal in a custom blue finish.

Severe Wind Pressure Load at Elevation

Structural Demand

Designing a 5-meter-tall continuous fence on an elevated terrace in the Mumbai coastal region posed severe structural wind-load demands. High-velocity winds at high-rise altitudes required an engineered framework capable of dampening lateral loads without adding dangerous structural weight to the roof slab.

Engineered Solution

This modular layout distributed wind pressure evenly across the structural anchor points, ensuring total stability, code compliance, and structural safety under critical Mumbai wind conditions.

Active School Campus & Daytime Safety Restrictions

Operational Constraint

Carrying out heavy civil and structural installation work inside an active school environment presented strict safety and acoustic constraints. Transporting materials, drilling into concrete, and operating heavy tools during the day posed unacceptable disruption and safety hazards to young students.

Operational Solution

The Fencecoat on-site team operated exclusively during night shifts. Heavy assembly, anchoring, and alignment were scheduled strictly after school hours concluded and wrapped before morning arrivals, delivering a zero-accident record and zero interruption to the academic calendar.

Rooftop Logistics & Vertical Material Handling

Logistical Barrier

Transporting 5-meter structural posts and heavy weldmesh panels up to a high-rise building terrace could not be handled through internal school corridors, elevators, or stairwells.

Logistical Solution

Fencecoat Project Officer Aniket Anute and the site team executed extensive preliminary site surveys. A heavy-duty crane lifting operation was deployed to hoist all structural components, posts, and weldmesh panels directly from ground delivery vehicles up to the terrace staging area.

Long-Term Sustainability & Coastal Corrosion Resistance

Environmental Risk

Given Mumbai's harsh, high-moisture coastal environment and continuous rooftop exposure to UV rays and rain, conventional fencing materials risked rapid corrosion, degrading both aesthetic appeal and structural safety over time.

Material Solution

Leveraging A1 Fence’s established quality benchmarks and engineering legacy, all components were manufactured using fully galvanised steel paired with an exterior-grade Jotun Pure Polyester Powder Coating. This dual-layer protective barrier created an ultra-durable, rust-resistant, and low-maintenance custom blue enclosure built to endure severe environmental wear.
